Things HE has done lately :)

Here's what God is doing in my life lately... this is my ministry update for the months of June to October. I just want to share this to all of you! Stay bless!

Dear Prayer Partners and Friends,
It has been five months since I sent my last ministry update. It was really tough for me in the ministry and the busy schedule in the school. I must admit that I even forgot to update you all about what is happening to me here in the mission field. With this I would like to make an apology on all the lacking that I had.
I would like to encourage you all to continue praying with me and support me morally and spiritually here in the mission field. Here are some of the things that happened to me in the past few months.
June – It was the toughest month for me spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. My family experienced difficulties when my younger sister Lovely gave birth to her son. The baby was diagnosed of having a blood disease that could affect his brain. Financially we were struggling that time also emotionally because my sister was also sick of thyroid. It was the time when I really desired to go back home and be with my family. But glory to God because he has never forget us; the Lord miraculously healed my nephew and also my sister. He also provided money for the hospital and their medications. God is really good.

July – I celebrated my 34th birthday. I had three different celebrations. July 6th the day before my birthday I celebrated it with my friends and the Bible School students, July 7 my real birth date we just had our dinner we cooked Adobo at home and had praise and worship (Ate Bel, Vasily, Mark, Golf and I). July 11, I chose to celebrate it with the kids of Banlad village and with my Phalan church family. We had a children’s party. Almost 80% of the children are from Laos whose family has just cross the Mekong River and stayed in that border line of Thailand for a long time now. We just cooked spaghetti and Thai noodles for them. We prepare some balloons for the kids, games and some little stuff for them. We were able to feed a hundred people including the parents and grandparents. It was the time of evangelization for Phalan church. A week after that there were children and parents who attended the service in Phalan Church. It was a good start of ministry in that area. As of now we are looking forward to continue the feeding program ministry in that village and teach English to the children too. It was my happiest birthday party ever.
Also in the month of July I was able to get my one year visa for the year 2010-2011. God provided for all my expenses.

August – We were really busy in the school for all the activities like the academic competition. It was so tough for our students because of the rigid training especially in the English Department. Truly our labors were not in vain our students were able to win the first place in the first level of the contest.
During this time I was physically and spiritually exhausted. But the Lord is always encouraging me and He never left me in the time of my distress.

September – For the last two Thursdays of September when I taught in the chapel time of the High School students I began experiencing the move of God to the lives of the children. I cannot speak Thai fluently but during the time that I am preaching usually my translator would tell me “Pud loi Khun Khroo, kaw jai lew kha!” It means, “Continue speaking teacher, we can understand you!” Last September 16 was my last preaching for the first semester. It was a great day for everyone although at first the time was really so pressuring for me because the chapel time is only from 8:30 – 9:20 a.m. the worship leader leads the worship until 9:15 a.m. so I only got 5 minutes left to preach. I was planning to just pray for them and then let them go back to their classes but then when I stood up in front of them I was led to share the word for almost twenty minutes and lead them in prayer of acceptance to Christ. It was an awesome time for me and for those who received the Lord. They clearly understand the preaching and willingly prayed the prayer of salvation. I prayed it in English then my translator prayed it in Thai and then the students repeated the prayer after the translator. After the service I stand amaze in awe of God. It was really Him who moved that time.

Last September 23 our English contestants moved on to the second level and praise God my trainees for the Impromptu Speech Contest made it in the first place again. Now I am going to train three students (1 for the Grade 4-6 level, 1 for the Grade 7-9 level and 1 for the Grade 10-12 level) for the Regional Contest on December 24-26, 2010.
This made me glad but saddens me too. I didn’t know what I’ve felt when they won. It’s like a mixed emotion because upon knowing that they won the contest I realized also that I will not be home for Christmas which I am really looking forward to since I left the Philippines last January.
I am still hoping to have even a two week vacation after the competition to be with my family on New Year and on my mom’s birthday. But everything is up to God. Whatever HIS will is, I will let HIS kingdom come and HIS will be done.
October 5-8, 2010 - The Mercy Christian School had the teacher’s retreat at Rayong and Pattaya. We were able to join and had lots of fun with all the teachers and staff. It was also a great time for us to minister to our non-Christian colleagues. I personally thank God for that wonderful activity indeed it blessed us and all who joined the retreat!
Now I have one more week vacation. I prepare to stay here in my house and work with the grades and have more time resting and being alone with God. Also we’ll be preparing for our Thai friend’s wedding on the 16thof this month.
Please include me in your prayers once again about everything in my life especially about God’s plan for me this coming second semester. Honestly it is difficult to be far from home and be alone in the mission field but whenever I am reminded that you are there to stand with me in prayers I am strengthened.
Lastly I just want to share to you the song “The Warrior is a Child”. Lately, this song encourages me to continue serving our Great Master.
Thank you so much again for partnering with me and for always reading my updates. Press on. May God bless you continually!
